I opened it and my fingers slid across the soft paper to level it. An uncontainable excitement came over me as I dashed through the words. ‘This couldn’t be’ I told myself ‘It’s surreal, too good to be true.’ I then scrutinised each sentence and savoured each word as he declared his unfailing and everlasting love for me. The sweetly written words and perfect sacrifice made my heart melt like ice-cream on a hot summer’s day. I read it and re-read it till I could almost memorise the words. A confession of his undeniable and unconditional love. The bible, God’s love letter.
Now I pose one simple question to you, do you read the bible like this? I wish I did.
